- 1. Bust: Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of the chest/bust, keeping the tape horizontal and comfortably loose
- 2. Waist : Measure around the natural waistline (usually the narrowest part of the torso, about an inch above the belly button)
- 3. Hips : Stand with feet together and measure around the fullest part of the hips
- 4. Hollow to Floor : Measure from the center of the collarbone (hollow) straight down to the floor without shoes on
- 5. Height : Measure barefoot from the top of the head straight down to the floor while standing upright against a wall
- Use a flexible soft measuring tape (cloth or plastic) rather than a metal ruler.
- Measure with light undergarments or fitting clothes on for the most accurate results.

My daughter was a junior bridesmaid at an outdoor July wedding and stayed surprisingly comfortable. The chiffon is light and airy, and the lining was not itchy. It did need a careful steaming out of the package, which I expected with this fabric. After that it looked beautiful.
We chose dusty blue for my eleven-year-old and the color matched the wedding palette almost perfectly. The chiffon moved so nicely when she walked, and the ruching on the bodice made the dress look much more expensive than it was. She wore it for six hours without asking to change.
I was nervous ordering a formal dress online, so I measured my daughter twice and followed the chart instead of her usual size. That was the right call. The waist fit well and the V-neck was modest on her. The skirt was long with flats, but just right once she put on her small heels.
